Baume et Mercier Timepieces
Renowned for its sporty chronographs, Baume et Mercier focuses on the European market, concentrating on such countries as France, Italy and Spain. Each year, Baume et Mercier manufacturers two hundred thousand timepieces. The company was established in Geneva as a result of an agreement signed by William Baume and Paul Mercier on November 26th, 1918, Both men had a rich history in watchmaking.
More recently, Baume et Mercier has been producing high end fashionable watch models, the most famous of which are the Hampton and the Riviera, so called after trendy high society US resorts. The Riviera is a highly durable watch, which was able to withstand the high pressure and speeds of the Le Mans 24 hours race. It was attached to a BMW M1 wheel prior to the start of the race.
