Luminox Timepieces

Luminox, founded by Barry Cohen in 1989, uses a material called tritium to light up the numerals and hands of its timepieces. The luxury watch company is based in Cranston, Rhode Island, in the United States, and all of its timepieces are Swiss-made. Originally, Luminox created watches for the United States Navy SEALs, a special military unit.

Many of its watch lines are inspired by fighter jets, such as the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-22 Raptor, the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the F-117 Nighthawk. Luminox also manufactures customized timepieces for military groups such as the US Coast Guard and the US Air Force.
