Movado Timepieces
Movado was established by Achilles Ditesheim in Le Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. Movado’s Museum Watch is distinguished by a gold dot, which is said to represent the sun at high noon. The hands of the Museum Watch represent the movement of the earth. Nathan George Horwitt designed the original Museum Watch in 1947. The original Museum was the very first wristwatch to be exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art.
The renowned “Time Sculpture” positioned outside the Lincoln Center in New York was installed by Movado. Movado commissioned Phlip Johnson, a famous architect to design this exceptional clock sculpture.
